I was on the USS Conway 507 from 1954 to June 1956 when I was Hon. discharged from the US Navy.
Prior I was on the USS 385 Tanager - Minesweeper from 1952
1954 when the Tanager was de-commissioned in Texas...I understand that the Tanager became an active ship again by the US Coast-Guard in Cal.
I am now 77 years old that had Open Heart by-pass surgery in October 2010...retired from the Ford Motor Company.
I salute all the men of the USS Conway 507

My Dad served on the USS Conway during WWII. I found the website and then viewed the photos in the albums. I found a picture of my Dad and two other gentleman of which brought a smile to my face. I cannot wait to tell my Dad about the website, show him the photos and articles and hear more stories of him being in the Pacific and proudly serving on the USS Conway. Thank you very much for this website it is fantastic and I look forward to sharing it with my family and especially my son who is a US Marine and served in Iraq. My son is always talking to my Dad about his service in WWII and my Dad vise versa with my son's tour in Iraq.
